The Inevitable Time has Arrived

December 14, 2004

Ms. Linda Cheung

empress_ella@hotmail.com

Dear Ms. Cheung,
The Committee on Admissions has just completed its Early Action meetings during which your application for admission was reviewed. After very careful consideration, we were unable to take a definite action on your candidacy at this time and therefore have deferred our decision until the regular spring meetings.

Please be assured that your entire application will be considered again thoroughly. While it is impossible to predict individual admission decisions, in recent years students whose applications were deferred have been admitted at various rates, at times close to those for Regular Action candidates. We will communicate the Committee's decision to you in April.

We hope you will write to us if you have new information to add to your application materials. Recent grades or test results, activities, honors, or other accomplishments would be of interest to the Committee as it reviews your application again in the spring meetings.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. You have our best wishes for a rewarding and productive year.

Sincerely,
William R. Fitzsimmons
Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid

Do you realize the sense of overwhelming depression that came over me upon receiving this fated email?? Well, it seems that it is shared by many. Michelle, Roxanna, Ivy, and I have been deferred. I haven't heard from Sara, Patrick, or ANgie. For MIT: Diana, Dan, and Jason from school have been deferred. Ok so is deferred like not that bad because it isn't rejection or do they not even reject people until spring?? Tomorow I will call the Admissions office as anonymous to ask questions. I will not be annoying, knowing how busy they are.

Today a guy came to eat dinner at the restaurant and he studies Feng Shui. He said that the energy in our restaurant was messed up so we were losing customers. With his help, we completly rearranged the dining area furniture. It actually looks really nice; I like it a lot. It was Mr. Hunt's son. -German teacher.

Today we almost got away with winning the canned food drive. WE really wanted to beat Thierri's so we collaborated with Choir and Band to come up with 1800 points. Thierri had 1500 points. I think we came in second, but by a lot behind without the choir and band's help. We would only be at 900.

Doesn't matter. We will make our own Christmas party. It was very funny and exciting during those first few moments thinking we had beaten Thierri and surprised them from behind. They were so gloating and thinking that they were unchallenged winners. But yeh, I do think they deserve to be the winners. They donated the most food. We did well too. If only all classes got so involved in competition like this! We could donate so much food to the needy!!
